Lilly Oncology: Patient Case

The Interactive Patient Case guides clinicians through the journey of our persona Jacob, a 71-year-old retired teacher, recently experiencing progression on his first-line CLL therapy. The experience invites clinicians to step into Jacob’s case, review diagnostic details, and explore treatment decisions.

Identifying the Need

Our client sought a more engaging way to educate clinicians on Pirtobrutinib treatment pathways, so our team reimagined a standard patient case handout as an interactive booth experience. Clinicians could explore treatment scenarios through a dynamic, visual format.

I led creative direction and design across digital and print assets, maintaining a unified style and clear functionality. Working closely with the developer, I shaped interface interactions and produced a prototype tailored to Congress requirements and Lilly branding.

Designing the Interface

The interactive Patient Case was designed to complement the existing Lilly booth environment while staying true to Lilly brand guidelines. Using the booth schematics as a foundation, I translated spatial requirements and screen specifications into a functional digital layout that integrated seamlessly into the congress space. Collaborating with the Scientific Innovation team, I shaped the UX structure and interaction flow before building the final interface in Figma. Once approved, I directed the visual design and prototyping, ensuring the experience balanced scientific accuracy with clear visual storytelling. Click here to see the original UX draft.

Project Reflection

The Pirtobrutinib Patient Case high-fidelity prototype demonstrates how interface design can transform static educational materials into engaging learning experiences. While developed specifically for a congress environment, the interactive patient case illustrates how user-centered design can enhance clinical engagement and understanding.
